The Atomic platform enables connection of an Account through a SIP End Point. A SIP End Point uses a Username and Password combination to authenticate the Account on the platform.
For this type of authentication, a call is mapped into the Account by performing a secure SIP digest authentication. In practice, that means that the device or software that originates the call has a username and password configured and those parameters are matched .
The primary use of this authentication method is to facilitate the connection of SIP phones and ATA's, as well as devices that are unable to obtain a static IP address.
When a SIP End Point is created and connected to the platform, you will be able to see the device details of the connection directly on the platform. You will be able to view if the device is connected or not as well as the user-agent that is used to connect to the platform.
To connect your device to the Atomic platform, you will first need to connect to our SIP Gateway using our SIP domain sip3.atomcomm.com. It is advisable to use the domain rather than the IP as the platform’s IP address may change.
The username and password that you will need to use to establish the connection can be found at Services > Voice > Config > Connections > SIP End Point.
The port you will normally use for authentication is port 5060.
