Play a welcome greeting and then ring my extension

If you want a caller, when calling in to your assigned DID number to hear a welcome greeting before being diverted to an extension, here are the steps on how you can set this up.

  1. Create a new Auto Attendant
  2. Upload a Custom Greeting that you would like your callers to hear.
  3. Enter the Account Number, Display Name and CLI in the Auto Attendant Details (more information can be found )
  4. Leave all the digit inputs blank (as you do not require any input from the caller) and go scroll down straight to Timeout Management
  5. For Number of times to repeat welcome message, select 1
  6. For Timeout, this will be dependant on the length of your custom greeting recording. If the length of your recording is 18 seconds, you would then want to select 20. This is the duration that the system will wait when the caller arrives to your Auto Attendant, before classifying it a as Timeout call.
  7. Let the system know what to do with the call. In this case, you want it forwarded to your extension. In Redirect Number, select your extension number.
  8. Hit Save
  9. Go to DID Management (Setup > DID Management) and edit the DID that you want to use for this Auto Attendant.
  10. Under Map to Account, select the Auto Attendant’s Account Number and hit Save
  11. Call the DID number to test
